Hi, My name is Alison. I’m a 30-something mom of 2 independent kiddos, pastor’s wife, and ministry leader. Growing up, I would like to say I always had the call of a leader, although at the time it manifested in being really bossy and causing a lot of fights on the playground.

As I grew older, I recognized that the things that made me bossy weren’t inherently bad, but they needed to healthy direction. I also learned that the same feelings that caused me to take control, were also what made me fiercely loyal, determined, and resilient.

In college, I was convinced that I would pursue a career in performance. This is half the reason I left everything I’d known in Southern California to move across the country to attend college in New York. The other half of the reason, was simply because that is where God was leading me.

In college, I served as an RA where I discovered my love for investing in women. In a Holy Spirit led change of events, I gave up my dream of Broadway and signed on as an Area Coordinator for my dorm the year I graduated college.

Over the next 10 years, my life took a number of twists and turns as I met and married my husband (Ryan), bore 2 children, became a stay-at-home mom, and made 2 more out-of-state moves. All the while, the Lord continued to grant me opportunities to invest in other women.

In July of 2022, I was offered the brand new role of Director of Women’s Leadership at our church. I was given an opportunity to create a ministry devoted to developing and unleashing the leadership potential of women (both inside and outside our church). I said something like “are you asking me if I’m interested in my dream job?” and accepted.

There has not been a blueprint for this role. I have yet to find a checklist on “10 ways to found and execute a thriving women’s development ministry.” But I know the call that God has placed on my life. I recognize the recurring motif of women’s leadership development weaved throughout the past 10 years. I see the ways that he has carefully threaded every circumstance (even those I would not have chosen for myself) to guide me here. I am overwhelmed by the opportunity to formally dream, create, and build a ministry with the distinct purpose of awakening women’s hearts to their unique call to lead.

Because there the Kingdom can always use more Vibrant, Passionate, Purpose-Filled women of God.
